Stages of the Path to Enlightenment (Lamrim) January 10-15

Introductory Talk by Kelsang Oden: Monday, Jan 10, 6:00 pm                                               

Retreat Sessions: Tuesday Jan. 11 – Saturday Jan. 15 , Guided by Kelsang Oden

 Daily Session Times: 7:30 am, 10:00 am, 3:30 pm, and 6 pm (except Saturday when there will be 2 morning sessions, after which the Retreat will end). 

Lamrim –  theTibetan word for the ‘Stages of the Path to Enlightenment’ – is a sequence of 21 meditations that reveal clearly and logically the entire Buddhist path. Each of the 4 daily sessions will include a brief teaching, preparation prayers (from Essence of Good Fortune) and a short time to read, after which we will endeavour to control distractions and focus our minds in a guided meditation. Objects of meditation will include the preciousness of our human life, death and impermanence, the law of cause and effect (karma), and the kindness of others.

As our heart experience of these meditations grows, we will make progress on the spiritual path, respond more effectively to daily problems, gradually transforming our mind through the power of wisdom and compassion.

Each retreat session is self-contained, so drop in to individual sessions or engage in the whole series of meditations, in our blessed and quiet space.

Everyone is welcome, including those wishing to deepen their experience of the Buddhist way of life.  All retreat sessions will be guided by our Resident Teacher, Kelsang Oden.

Fee: $5 per session or $15 for the day  (50% reduction for Foundation Program students).  The Introductory Talk is free (recommended for anyone planning to attend one or more retreat sessions).
